Only for PC, iPad, and Fire???

Apparently this is just a e-copy of the book, not an actual Kindle edition. Which means that I can't get it for my Kindle Keyboard, I would only be able to view it on a computer, Fire, or iPad. Even then it would be a less than ideal experience. Publishers need to get with it. Especially when they are charging a premium for their books. Come on, $70. We don't live in the 1950's anymore when there were almighty keepers of knowledge. We live in the information age. If you want to make a buck on your research, fine, but make it accessible. The only reason textbook publisher can charge ridiculous prices is because many of these books are required for classes. Get over yourselves and get with the times or people will stop requiring and purchasing text books altogether. Some schools are already doing it...

This is a poorly laid out and planned book. There are many other books on this topic that are much better. Don't waste your money. If you have to have it for a class, I'll sell you mine for a great discount. Almost perfect condition.

Not as good as advertised

This book gives some insight about what a principal (or administrator) should do, but it lacks the realism that one faces in the actual practice. There are many theories and ideas, but some are just not practical. While it is good for training purposes, I would not recommend an administrator to try to do all of these practices.
Additionally, the writing is rather stilted in some parts and the diagrams are often not helpful. Some of the figures are difficult to grasp and some are VERY dated. The research is also dated in some portions of the book. I would have liked to see the new edition have more updated research based information.
Overall, the book is okay, but it is lacking in some areas.

Not worth the money!

I don't usually write review on my book purchase. I am compel to write something for this one. I got my son this book for $25. It is way overpriced for the material that its presented. This book has only 30 pages. If you do some googling, you will find the similar tutorials and guide online. The presentation of the book looks like some college term paper... a bad one too. Has my son not written stuff on it, I would have returned the book.

I teach high school introduction to programming. This books gets students up and running programming Scratch at their own pace in not time. Students learn from basic character (sprite) control to more advanced gaming concepts. We use this book for the first 2-3 weeks to give students confidence in computer programming before we transition out of scratch and into more advanced material. Still Scratch, Used in some MIT courses as I understand can be very powerful.
The author's generous offer for classroom teachers to make a class set is more than beats industry standards and it is greatly appreciated, especially as teachers we often buy own material. The printed book came out blurry for some reason so I think the publisher can improve, this seems no fault of the author or the content of the book. Still, the author is quick to send electronic versions which is what I needed anyways to distribute to class.

I have read through a few leadership books already and will say that this book is pretty similar to other books on the same topic. What it does differently is that it simplifies all the points of becoming a leader in to short concise paragraphs. You can easily read through this book in 20 mins and pick up a lot of information as there is no fluff in it at all. Downside is that its a little short on content for such a big topic, but I think this will be rectified on later editions.

Recent years have demonstrated the uncertainty of the world and theneed to be prepared for disasters. Whether natural disasters hurricanes, tornadoes, or earthquakes) or man-made disasters terrorist attacks or conflict between groups of people), these events result in many people being subjected to mass trauma. The survivors of these occurrences include not only those who directly experience the event but also the first responders and subsequent relief workers. As a result, there is a growing concern among mental health professionals resulting in a desire to determine best practices for treating the survivors of mass trauma.Treating Victims of Mass Disaster and Terrorism makes a significantcontribution to the treatment of survivors of disasters and terrorism and contribution to the treatment of survivors of disasters and terrorism and will likely become a valued resource for those interested in disaster mental health.The contributions of this work include a great deal of informationin a short amount of space for those who want a review or overview ofdiagnosis. There is also a summary of risk factors that is veryinformative and easy to follow. The integration of assessment,evaluation, and treatment into the three stages of postdisaster care is useful in the conceptualization of the experience from the individual's perspective so that the needs of a client can be better anticipated. Much of the information presented is practical, although Section 4.6, Additional Tools for Responders, is likely to be the most useful for those mental health professionals working on the front lines. The many tables and lists provide large amounts of information in a succinct and effective manner. It would be even more helpful to somewhere have a list of the tables and their page numbers included for easier access. Overall, Sections 3 and 4 provide a nice discussion of treatment methods research, the pros and cons of research in the field, and good explanations of the development of the empirically derived guiding principles. These guiding principles are principles of change rather than of a particular therapeutic mode and are used to guide treatment through the threes stages of postdisaster care.There are also limitations. Although the volume is less than 100pages, it is difficult to read and does not flow easily. There areparagraphs that seem repetitive and in places the text appears to be cut and pasted from previous sections with only a word or two edited.Additionally, there seems to be more use of research jargon (quasiexperimental design, variables, etc.) than average therapists want in a how-to-do-treatment guide. This is especially true for one that they would take with them when deployed to work in a disaster area, as suggested by the Housley and Beutler in their self-care section. There is also a seemingly minor discrepancy with the use of terms that may have implications for the reader's subjective interpretation. In the title, the term victim is used, but in the text victim, patient victim, patient, and survivor are all used in reference to the person receiving treatment (term from the title). The individual administering the treatment is called the clinician, provider, and worker. Although these discrepancies may be nothing more than the result of the book's having two authors or of sections being written at different times, the writer's choice of words will influence how the reader perceives those who have been affected by disaster or terrorism. Survivor indicates that a normal person has lived through some bad experience. The term victim indicates someone who is helpless because he or she has experienced some misfortune. Patient is usually reserved for someone receiving medical treatment. In the opening two paragraphs, it is proposed that treatment is defined by the event, not by pathology, and that people areresilient and do not need a diagnosis of a mental disorder. I wouldsuggest, therefore, that survivor is the term most consistent with howHousley and Beutler want their readers to think about individualsreceiving treatment. Other areas that could improve the usefulness of this volume would be more information about the interaction of the severity of the trauma experienced and the symptoms manifested (Dahl, Mutapcic, & Schei, 1998; Moreno & Gibbons, 2002). It would also be helpful to provide more discussion related to the stages of recovery experienced by the survivor (honeymoon stage), long-lasting events such as the aftermath of Katrina, ongoing war as in Iraq, or continued threats of attack such as the experience of Israelis (Somer, Sever, Ruvio, & Soref, 2007). Additional examples of the tools, perhaps short vignettes, would be helpful for mental health providers as well.Finally, although the intended audience is therapists who areeither current or potential disaster workers wanting information on best practices, this may not be the group that would find the volume most useful. Dr. Wedding directed the neuropsychology services at the medical schools of East Tennessee State University and Marshall University before serving as a legislative aid to Senator Tom Daschle and Congressman John Conyers. Since 1991, Dr. Wedding has served as a Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Missouri Institute of Mental Health, a health policy, research, and training center affiliated with the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine. He is the author or editor of 12 books including "Current Psychotherapies", "Movies and Mental Illness", and "Behavior and Medicine". AMAZING NEW COOKBOOK!

Already Love the new book! Already made the Peruvian Fries which came out great. Also made the Hearts of Palm Slaw...perfect! Ingredients are not difficult to find and recipes are easy to follow. Book is a WINNER.! Highly recommend !

Fantastic, International Vegan Street Food! Unique, Wonderful, Worth It!

Well, I heard the NPR interview, *and* actually ordered and read the book before writing this review!

I also ordered (and read, and reviewed) their other book: Vedge: 100 Plates Large and Small That Redefine Vegetable Cooking

I am tough on cookbooks. I've had my recipes featured in cookbooks, I write recipes, I have a few recipe websites, and I collect cookbooks. I won't give a cookbook one more star than it deserves, and in my (not so humble) opinion, this cookbook deserves 6 stars (but I could only give it 5, so there you go).

Because this book is based on their travels around the world, finding and eating vegan street food in a variety of places, the chapters are not your usual appetizers/soups/salads/entrees/sides/desserts line-up.

Rather, this books chapters are divided into sticks, snacks, salads & slaws, market, plates, bowls, and sweets. Also there are chapters for cocktails, and sauces/spice blends/marinades.

You will find that there is a fairly heavy Asian influence to these recipes (by which I am also including India, etc.). So things like Kimchi Tofu, and Tandoor Zucchini. But there are also recipes that found inspiration closer to home including not only the Caribbean and Mexico, but even the good ole U.S. of A. (such as Fried pickles with spicy ketchup). And then there is the occasional out-of-left-field region, such as the recipe for Black garlic pierogi (ok, so not so much out-of-left-field as out of Poland).

And all of the recipes are vegan, although meat-lovers will love them too!

The cool thing is that I guarantee you that even if you had hundreds of cookbooks (veg or otherwise) like I do, you will not find a *single* one of these recipes in any other cookbook. In part that is because the authors own their own restaurants, and these recipes are from their restaurants, but much more it's because they have a flare for creating wholly unique dishes and recipes. They are, in a word, *amazing*.

Consider, in addition to those recipes already mentioned above, the Churro ice cream sandwich, Chocolate peanut butter waffles with curry-banana ice cream, Szechuan soft pretzels, Scallion pancakes, and Jerk-spiced cashews.

And they have a recipe for Dan Dan sauce! (One of my favourites!)

I only wish that I lived closer to Philadelphia so that I could actually visit their restaurants! (Their restaurants are V Street, after which this cookbook is named, and Vedge. If anybody reading this has been to either, please let me know about your experience!)

I wish I could make more of the recipes but

I wish I could make more of the recipes but I'm having trouble finding the ingredients. I'm usually pretty resourceful and can find anything I need online but this book has me stumpt on a few items, the one I'm really having trouble finding is "pickled chile paste" it's in a lot of recipes and I can not find it anywhere! I wish they would have mentioned a brand name or a resource for where they buy it, same goes for Piri Piri peppers, and Malagueta pepper sauce.
If anyone could help me find the "pickled chile paste" I sure would appreciate it. I wish I could give this book more stars but it's frustrating not being able to make all the recipes.
I don't regret buying it and still recommend it, it's worth it just for the Dan Dan Noodles recipe, which is insanely delicious!

Dr. Stevenson is an associate professor of Decision Sciences in the College of Business at Rochester Institute of Technology. He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in production/operations management, management science, quality concepts, and quality applications. He is the author of textbooks in management science, statistics, as well as production/operations management. His articles have appeared in Management Science and Decision Sciences. He also serves as a consultant to the New York State Regents External Degree program. His current research interests are in quality applications. Dr. Stevenson received a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, and an M.B.A. and a Ph.D. in production/operations management from Syracuse University.

Passed with 87% . Used this book along with MRIquiz.com and Lippincott's . Be careful with Lippincott's some answers were incorrect . This book is perfect . I wish they had explanations but you can always refer to MRI in practice . The MIC is way too hard did not like it . Way to in depth . The registry is not as hard as you think . I took online courses from Galveston college . Wonderful teacher Mr. Cerani . Definitely get this book . Did this book 2 times from front to back . Put all my wrong questions on index cards and studied them over until they were memorized and understood . Get a good anatomy book and review it . I studied 4 to 6 hours for a 6 weeks . I found myself breezing through the registry. This book made me very confident . Breath relax your neves and think positive . It's not that hard to pass but you have to put in the work . MRI has difficult concepts . I hope I have given you enough info to help. Please get this book you will not regret it.

Only has questions, not a true study guide.

This book isn't very thick and only has practice questions and no explanations to go with the answers. For the price I expected an actual study guide with it. I suggest mriquiz.com. You get far more content, study material and not only questions but you can take mock exams as well. And it costs almost the same as this retarded book.

Good quality book. Definitely helped me pass my registry on the first try. Overall, the questions cover all of the basics of MRI and helps you think about what type of information you will need for the registry. It shouldn't be the only guide you use but will definitely help reinforce the core principles MRI has to offer. Another great option to consider with the book is MRI in Practice.
