Great Book For Marketers
By Winston Myers
As a marketer recently placed on a cross-functional team, I found myself sitting across from supply chain managers who spoke a totally different language. With their emphasis on inventory turns, sustainability and network optimization, I felt like I had slipped through some corporate rabbit hole.

Where was the focus on demand, the holy grail of marketing metrics?

I needed something that would quickly bring me up to speed. Dr. Dittmann's book, Supply Chain Transformation, helped me find my sea legs in the world of supply chain. The book's premise that without a supply chain strategy companies are like ships without rudders, chasing the latest trend, made a lot of sense to me.

Most importantly, the book helped me to advocate marketing programs within the context of the larger supply chain strategy. This has been immensely important for our overall team performance, and for my credibility with the supply chain contingent.

Every marketer should read this book AND talk about it with the supply chain colleagues they interact with.

By Shay Scott
If you had the opportunity to gain the wisdom that comes from speaking with over 700 supply chain leaders who have designed and managed the world's top supply chains, would you want to do so? If your answer is yes, then this book is for you. Using research conducted on over 100 organizations by the University of Tennessee's #1 ranked supply chain faculty, Paul Dittmann has written a concise and imminently readable book that will lead you through the process of developing an integrated supply chain strategy. Not only will you learn the questions you should be asking, but this book also provides insight on the process of developing and executing a supply chain strategy. Finally, an included case study provides an example of how to translate these concepts into results within your own organization. Instead of continuing to go from one supply chain fad to the next, I would encourage you to allow Dittmann to play the role of expert guide in walking you through the process of ensuring you have a solid supply chain strategy on which to build success.
