About the Author
Michael D’Alessio earned his B.S. in Biology from Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey, and his M.S. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He has had an extensive career teaching all levels of mathematics and science, including AP® Biology. Mr. D’Alessio serves as the Supervisor of the Mathematics and Business Department at Watchung Hills Regional High School in Warren, New Jersey.

Lauren Gross earned her B.S. in Biology from Dickinson College and her Ph.D. in Plant Physiology from Pennsylvania State University. She teaches AP® Biology to homeschooled children in the United States and abroad for Pennsylvania Homeschoolers, where she is also a home education evaluator. As an assistant professor at Loyola College in Maryland, Ms. Gross taught various biology, genetics, and botany courses.

Jennifer C. Guercio earned an M.S. in Molecular Biology with a concentration in neuroscience from Montclair State University, Montclair, New Jersey. For the past several years, she has been doing research in neuroscience as well as teaching academic writing at Montclair State University. Ms. Guercio attended North Carolina State University as a Park Scholar where she earned her B.A. and M.A. degrees.

If you really want a 5 on the AP Exam...

Earned a 5 on the AP after studying only two nights before with this book. EVERYTHING on the AP was in this book and is the sole reason I performed so well on the AP test. It also helps for in-class review in case you are struggling as it is easy to follow, and accurately reflects the new AP biology exam changes. Highly Recommended.

Not the best.

This was the review book that my teacher recommended but I was quite disappointed when I received it. The biggest problem I encountered was the lack of practice problems. To me, that's an essential of any review book so one can test themselves on the content. Apart from that, the book also did not go into much detail and some of their very brief descriptions were more confusing than they were helpful. I felt the book didn't give me much of an idea of what would be on the actual exam. I wouldn't really recommend this to others. If you're looking for a good review book, go with the Cliff Notes one.

It's okay. I recommend crash course for subjects like US Gov, history, psychology, econ... The new AP Bio test is more like the one on the ACT. You have to read, analyze, and answer. The old version of the test was straight up if you know the facts (like vocab). The new one is more reasoning.

Judging by the Chapter Headings, this maybe Freedom(tm) in German

This appears to be a translation into German, of Suarez' 2nd novel, Freedom(tm). It's a great novel, following his earlier cyber-thriller, Daemon, but unless you read German, there are probably better choices to be made than purchasing this one. For example, Daemon, or, Freedom(tm) (in English), or his new one, Kill Decision. This isn't meant to sound like I'm saying one language is superior to any other - just that it's always good to understand what one is reading.

SO VERY REAL! Social Networking has become very dangerous.

SO REAL!

Wow, this story was so real! Everyone is engaging in social networking during the Internet age and we hear more and more about people getting duped. Anybody’s Daughter is a well written story about this very subject. As parents we try to protect our children from the unknown, but they find crafty ways to deceive us.

Brianna is a 13-year old girl living with her mother after her father was killed in the war. Brianna’s Uncle Dre gave her an I-phone as a gift and the trouble begins. She created a Face book account unbeknownst to her mother and meets a boy named Jaden on line. They correspond and plan to meet one morning before school.

The best made plans go awry and Brianna is kidnapped into the world of teenage sex trafficking. There is no 14-year old Jaden and Brianna is afraid but believes that her Uncle Dre will rescue her. Uncle Dre has put his criminal past behind him until Brianna is kidnapped. He enlists the aid of family and friends to help find his niece. The story takes place over a period of 5 days and it is very intense, heartbreaking, and quite disturbing. The boldness of the players in the sex trafficking business is sickening to say the least and young girls are lured into it with false promises or just kidnapped. The very people who are supposed to protect our children can be just as greedy and callous.

Brianna’s story had a better ending than most that are pulled into this underworld of greed and evil. Pamela Samuels Young did an excellent job of creating this fast paced story!

you can't make this stuff up

As a crime novel, this is a 3-star. As reportage it's a 5. As someone who works with youth caught up in the juvenile justice system, including kids involved in prostitution, I read this out of professional curiosity. The story here is no exaggeration. Ms. Young takes no liberties with the truth. The excess of brutality and exploitation is not invented. Sadly, the phenomenon of child sex trafficking described in this book is fact, not fiction -a terrible reality for way too many of our kids. I hope this book educates people ; these kids are not criminals, they're victims, and they deserve compassion and support. Thank you Ms Young for shining a light into this dark world - and for your commitment to keep helping.

Must Read!!!

Powerful, compelling and real!!!! This is a must read for parents, grandparents raising children, foster parents, educators and I could go on. Human trafficking is in LIVE and LIVING in color. Unfortunately, the invisible children are sought out by predators and are held capture.

Samuels-Young's novel clearly depicts the mind of the predator and the fortitude of a loving family(uncle) who fights back to rescue not only his own, but "Anybody's Daughter"!!!!

For advocates to STOP Human Trafficking this book is for you!!!!

Nice book but not for my 2 year old

So I got fooled (perhaps a harsh word) into buying this book as part of one of Amazon's bundles...with Missing Toy & Olivia Saves the Circus. I failed to read the detail on what the book is. It is a book of inspirational quotes. While not doubt the quotes are great (I've now added one to my facebook profile) this isn't a book for my 2 year old Olivia obsessed daughter. I may put it away and give it to her when she turns 18 or graduates from high school like another reviewer states. Also, something to note, none of the pictures of Olivia are new...if you've read all the other books you've seen these.
In short...great book...but not a children's book.

A Must Read For Everyone!

My youngest daughter borrowed this book from her school library last month. Upon first read, I instantly fell in love. Every Friday, I asked her to recheck out this book. Realizing the impact this book can be, I knew I had to purchase it so the school copy could be a blessing to others. It's certainly not just for children!

Good messages, odd medium

It's a very small book with lots of great quotes about being a strong, independent, confident person. It's just a little awkward because Olivia is a character targeted toward young kids, but the book isn't really a good read aloud book. It seems like the substance of it could be better appreciated by a child who is at the age that it would no longer like Olivia the character. Good messages though.
