With pleasure I read this excellent collection on state of the art surveys on psychological aspects of the internet. The chapters are of very high quality and very comprehensive. The content ranges from motivational aspects of wikipedia participation over internet abuse and privacy issues to the use of the internet for psychotherapy and for conducting research.

Written mainly for the researcher and for students, the book is relatively dry to read, but at the same time it remains accessible even for the non-psychologist. It contains a wealth of information for anybody interested in the impact of the internet on our society.

Fantastic book, easy to read

Fantastic book, easy to read, straight to the point without the fluff, with very practical insight into starting a focused business in woodworking or selling any other handcrafted item for that matter. The best part of this small work, is the insight that is so freely offered through the lens of his personal business journey, one of trial and error and success through hard work. I look forward to reading his future works.

The data base designers can also learn much about language interfaces from programming language designers. The purpose of this book is to present the state of the art in integrating both approaches. The book evolved from the proceedings of a workshop held at the Appin in August 1985. It consists of three sections. The first, "Data Types and Persistence", discusses the issues of data abstraction in a persistent environment. Type systems, modules and binding mechanisms that are appropriate for programming in the large are proposed. Type checking for polymorphic systems and across innovations of the type checker are also discussed. The second section, "Database Types in Programming Languages", introduces the concept of inheritance as a method of polymorphic modelling. It is shown how inheritance can be used as a method of computation in logic programming and how it is appropriate for modelling large scale data in databases. The last section discusses the issues of controlled access to large scale data in a concurrent and distributed persistent environment. Finally methods of how we may implement persistence and build machine architectures for persistent data round off the book.

FRANCIS WILSON, an emeritus professor at the University of Cape Town, taught in the School of Economics for 40 years. He was Chairperson of the Council of the University of Fort Hare and chaired South Africa's National Water Advisory Council.

A MUST HAVE for any 40K fan

This is one of the best graphic novels I have ever read for the warhammer 40,000 genre. The story is amazing and the characters are awesome as they are memorable. The art approach is just as spectacular from the armor of the space marines to the insanity of the worlds of Chaos within the Eye of Terror.
